He learned to play his instrument guitar at the age of 12 together with other Manouche-children.
Involved by the permanent presence of Django Reinhardt he learned to love very early the magic and fascination of this musicstyle in this enviroment.
Meanwhile he has recorded a whole bunch of records, wrote serveral guitar-methodbooks, founded a music-shool in Paris and playes with the most famous musicians from all over the world.

ROMANE has done a great lot to cultivate and announce this musicstyle and is involved by many developments especially in the french Jazz and JazzManouche.
Imprinted by the influence of Django Reinhardt and the JazzManouche, ROMANE has succeeded to newly integrate the old tradition of JazzManouche, of the "Swing Gitan" into the french listening habit.
But: ROMANE never stops, he listens to new musicians, still developing his style further deeply experimenting with different styles. As his great idol Django did.

Today ROMANE is mentioned as one of the best and highly respected "non-Gypsy"-guitarrists of Gypsyjazz and JazzManouche.
He plays in different formations: with his oldest son Richard Manetti as "Pere et Fils", together with Stochelo Rosenberg as "Guitar Masters", and with his project "Roots & Groove" and the "Romane Quintett" with both of his sons Pierre and Richard Manetti.
